The Duality of Me

The Duality of Me

The Duality of Me

“He communicates information and brings people together. That’s why in medical astrology Gemini rules the nervous system; it functions as a network to carry messages from the senses to the brain. In social situations, the Gemini archetype is also the catalyst. This involves two factors of course – positive and negative (dual). In the positive sense, Gemini friends are good at circulating your business card at social events. Give them a stack of cards to add t their gardener’s, hairdresser’s, caterer’s, seamstresses. But, in the negative sense, beware of the gossip tendency.” – Kathleen Burt

I am a Gemini. There was a time when I was ashamed to say that I’m a Gemini.  People would begin to go off about how horrible their entire life experience has been with us Gems.  Really.  And then they’d hurl their judgments of me (cloaked as comparisons of course), by the time they were done, I felt like an inappropriate, over talkative, manipulative ass. I’d try to recover by saying, “I’m gregarious”.  But you wouldn’t even believe the number of people that chose to believe that I’m not a safe person to be around – because I’m a Gemini.  Well let me tell you this: there is a duality about me.  And it’s all good. Sure, I may be Bi-polar.  But that’s all good too.

Some of my friends and family actually enjoy that I’m a Gemini.  My duality.  Yes, there seems to be two of me in many aspects of my life.  But to a degree, it balances me.  I still love myself when I hate myself.  See myself as honest when I’m lying.  See myself as creative when I feel like a slug.  See what I mean?  And you know what?  I am gregarious!  I love people.  Love to hate ’em and love to love ’em.  Sometimes I love too fast.  Sometimes I want all that I cannot have or have.  But overall, I love who I am, and am happy that I’m loved by someone else.

Gemini Personality Traits v. Taurus

According to astrology, people who are born between the dates, 20th April and 21st May, are Taurus, while those who are born between May 21st and June 21 are Gemini.

Taurus Characteristics

On the positive side, people born under the sign of Taurus are very reliable people, who believe in fulfilling their duties, both professionally and personally. Taurus people are the “home loving” kind, who like to take care of their families and loved ones. Taurus people also love the material things in life. They want to live in the best of houses with the best of interiors and the most beautiful man or woman as their partner.

Highly determined and stubborn, people born under the sign of Taurus never ever change their mind or opinions, about anything. They can also be very rigid and argue for hours together, just to prove their point. A fiery temperament is something that most Taurus people hide well under their cool exteriors. If ever provoked, the person on the receiving end will certainly suffer.

Gemini Characteristics

Those born under the sign of Gemini are very intelligent and bright, making them the center of attraction in any party or group. They are also born flirts, and with their natural talent for communication, and can sweep any person off their feet. Gemini’s are also very independent and do not like people telling them what to do or not to do in life. Gemini’s are great at multi tasking and can work equally well at a number of projects simultaneously.
Despite these positive Gemini traits, Gemini’s do have a few drawbacks. Gemini can be very reckless at times, making other people believe that they cannot be trusted. They are also often thought to be fickle minded, as they seldom finish the jobs that they take upon themselves. Indecisiveness is another Gemini trait, which baffles people who come in contact with Gemini’s.

Taurus and Gemini Compatibility

If you look at the Taurus and Gemini traits, it may seem at first that Gemini and Taurus compatibility is almost impossible. Taurus is strong, silent and slow, while Gemini’s are reckless, chatty and fast. They are completely opposite to each other, making Taurus/Gemini compatibility difficult. However, as is said that opposites do attract each other, so there can definitely be something in each of them which may lead to an attraction, making Taurus/Gemini match a possibility.

Gemini’s are indecisive and have a lot of nervous energy in them. The strength and maturity of a Taurus acts like a soothing ointment, making them feel calm and at peace. At the same time, Gemini’s fresh ideas and new ways of looking at life can inspire the Taurus and he can get a new perspective on life, by just being in the Gemini’s company. If both Taurus and Gemini are able to admire and appreciate these qualities in each other, and learn from each other, then Taurus Gemini friendship compatibility and even Taurus Gemini love compatibility can happen.

Taurus and Gemini Sexual Compatibility

Taurus loves a challenge and Gemini is very sexy to Taurus. Ruled by Mercury, Gemini has both beauty and brain. Taurus is an Earth sign and is of course grounded and needs security that Gemini may not give over time. This can drive Taurus to a breaking point. There is potential here as long as both are seeking drama, sporadic separations and dramatic reunions. To make a relationship work, Taurus should give Gemini lots of freedom and Gemini will have to tone down his or her carefree ways. Taurus should stay a mystery to Gemini for best results. Sex can be either horrible or amazing. A one-night stand will leave a lasting impression. Both signs will need to make many compromises if a long-term relationship is desired. Compatibility between these two signs is generalized and for greater accuracy, one’s planets, rising signs and other astrological aspects should be thoroughly explored.

About Gemini

DailyHoroscope.net a Resource for Zodiac Sign Gemini

I’ve discovered a useful app for all of us Gemini’s interested in following our horoscope or for those that love us! It’s called DailyHoroscope.net. About the Gemini

Adaptable, Versatile, Communicative, Witty, Intellectual, Eloquent, Youthful and Lively

Nervous, Tense, Superficial, Inconsistent, Cunning and Inquisitive

Gemini’s are curious and intellectual by nature. They are forever exploring people and places in their quest to obtain knowledge. Bright, witty and outgoing, the Gemini charm guarantees they will be the center of attention in any crowd. Matching their intellect is a well-developed imagination.

The duality of the Gemini personality can make it difficult to know just whom you are dealing with. They sometimes seem fickle, flighty and susceptible to whim. These traits often make it difficult for Gemini’s to finish much of what they start. The other side of their dual personalities is they have an innate ability to multi-task, which is good since their interests are many and varied.

The Gemini Intellect is the key to their being, and provides the foundation for their skills in the art of communicating. Gemini’s are not born leaders and will usually defer that place to another. However, their clear thinking and creativity allow them to give positively to any project. While Gemini’s love to talk, they also make for a great audience. Overall, their light spirit and interest in almost everything make them wonderful company.

The Gemini In Love

Gemini’s love intelligent conversation, so the way to the Geminian heart is through the head. The Geminian is best involved with a steadier, stronger personality who will tolerate and enjoy their butterfly socializing, yet still be there for them when the cards have all blown down. They are willing to experiment with all ways of relationship styles; and as long as their partner is articulate, tolerant, exciting, adventurous and willing to discuss their exploits in detail, they will be ecstatic.

Because Gemini is not above straying, they are rather divorce prone. However, typically they think the joys of an occasional adventure more than make up for the risks involved. Gemini’s are exciting companions who crave excitement and variety. They assume they will be able to easily smooth over troubled waters with their silver tongue–they are tolerant of the peccadilloes of their partners, so long as they are not stolid or boring.

Famous Gemini Include: H.R.H. Philip (Duke of Edinburgh), Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Bob Hope, John F Kennedy, Walt Whitman, Al Jolson, Bob Dylan, Thomas Hardy, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Stravinsky, Confucius, Kirk Kerkorian and Paul McCartney

Ideal Jobs Include:

Gemini’s are well-suited to be explorers, writers, merchants, translators, publicists or talk show hosts.

Gemini Blessings

Of all the zodiac signs out there, ours is the one that is said by astrologers to seek astrology readings the most. This supports the notion that we are constantly looking to define who we are, potentially an impossible task because we are two people with two personalities. Who we are depends on who we are at the moment.  Gemini is a cerebral air sign which translates to excessive mental activity and an inability to turn our active minds completely off. We quickly jump into any interesting and creative projects and quickly find them to be boring. Gemini’s are always seeking new adventures to experience.  The speed in which we process information, even useless information, can lead communication issues with even our closest relationships.  Gemini’s should try to move at everyone else’s speed a bit.

If you are a Gemini, you probably have groups of people who know you as one person and groups of people who know you as another. We feel uncomfortable and may even fear that should these groups ever combine, the conversation may lead to the story of your life, and the question, “Who are you?” We are curious about everything and there is nothing we won’t at least consider trying. This leads to a daily task of discovery and since our actions define who we are, we are always someone new.

Whatever “thing” may be new to a Gemini, we must have it.  From the latest styles to the latest gadgets, we have them all and a huge collection of old ones. In many ways, this is how our relationships go too.  Be it personal, work, or with anything else, we tend to leap before we look to experience the now.

Spiritual Challenges for the Gemini Soul

The Yin-Yang of the universe has given Gemini a high-strung and nervous side.  This can make us act inconsistent and unpredictable, even to ourselves.  We love our freedom and we especially love to explore in our relationships.  Long term relationships are difficult to keep up. Our short attention spans can easily make others feel like we are non-committal.

Gemini’s have the ability to become highly devoted in our closest relationships, but our challenge is a matter of figuring out how to get from point A to point B.  Gemini’s, check your daily horoscope readings faithfully to focus on stability and less on spontaneity. Embrace the duality of you!

Truth

A Poem About Gemini and Leo in Relationship

Truth

Distorted reality reflected off the pond’s mirror image

Moon showing, the Crescent proudly crowning the night

Stars were circling, Leo passed through Gemini all of it making little sense.

I heard the echo around me. Nothing is as it seems.

I was alone then for others understood not my power.

No.  I knew not how to control it.

So I alone brought my anger there. No one’s fear but mine was present.

The Lightening lashed, screaming for the roar of thunder.

Finally the battle was over. Gentle rain washed me clean of my hurt.

So I knew peace for a while. I slept dreaming of the Gardens I was on my path to.

I glimpsed the Runes.

I breathed deeply of his Aqua Velva cologne.

Tasted the sweet Texas tea.

Waiting for it to all fade away

And to begin a beautiful day.

The Runes and Specific Star Signs – Leo and Gemini

“Every Beginning is a Consequence – Every Beginning Ends Something.” – Paul Valery

The ancient Viking Runes are a staple in our home for decision making and raising our awareness to the course of right action.  The personality profiles of our Astrological Signs have always intrigued us as well, as we often see so much of ourselves in some of what has been written.  Especially issues around compatibility between the two signs.  I have casually kept my own research up over the years and posted a blog, “Gemini v Leo.” I am a Gemini and I have a number of special people in my life who are Leo’s.

On a recent trip to Sedona, AZ I discovered an interesting way in which I can associate the connections between the Astrological Signs, Leo and Gemini, to the Rune associated with each.  Ansuz is the Rune associated with Leo; Dagaz is the Rune for Gemini.

Ansuz

Ansuz~ Ansur~ Mouth

Ansuz~ Ansur~ Mouth

Signals

Messenger Rune

The God Loki

The keynote here is receiving: messages, signals, gifts.  Even a most timely warning may be seen as a gift.  The message may be that of a new life unfolding.  New lives begin with new connections, surprising linkages that direct you onto new pathways. Take care now to be especially aware during meetings, visits, chance encounters, particularly with persons wiser than yourself.  When the Messenger Rune brings sacred knowledge, you are truly blessed.

Loki is that ancient trickster from the pantheon of the Norse Gods.  He is the heyeohkah of the Native Americans, a mocking shadow of the creator god, as well as the bringer of benefits to humankind. He is a reminder that even scoundrels and arch-thieves can be the bearers of wisdom.  When this Rune is drawn, expect the unexpected; the message is always a call, a call to a new life.

Ansuz is the first of the thirteen Runes that make up the Cycle of Initiation – Runes that focus directly upon the mechanism of self-change – and as such, addresses our need to integrate unconscious motive with conscious intent.

Drawing Ansuz indicates that a connection with the Divine is at hand.  It is a signal to explore the depths, the foundations of life, and to experience the inexhaustible wellspring of the Divine in one’s own nature.

At the same time, Ansuz reminds that one must first draw from the well to nourish and give to oneself.  Then, there will be more than enough to nourish others.  A new sense of family solidarity invests this Rune.

Ansuz also presents a different message when drawn in a reversed position: One may be concerned over what appears to be failed communication, lack of clarity or awareness either in one’s past history or in a present situation.  One may feel inhibited from accepting what is offered.  A sense of futility, of wasted motion, may overwhelm one’s self.  However, that is what is happening and is timely to one’s own process.  If the well is clogged, this is the moment for cleaning out the old.  Reversed, Ansuz is saying, “Consider the uses of adversity.”

I’m the Gemini with Dagaz as my Rune:

Dagaz

dagaz

Breakthrough

Transformation

Day

Dagaz is the final Rune belonging to the Cycle of Initiation.  Drawing Dagaz often signals a major shift or breakthrough in the process of self-change, a complete transformation in attitude, a 180-degree turn.  For some, the transition is so radical that they are no longer able to live the ordinary life in the ordinary way.

Because the timing is right, the outcome is assured although not, from the present vantage point, predictable.  In each life there comes at least one moment which, if recognized and seized, transforms the course of that life forever.  Rely, therefore on radical trust, even though the moment may call for one’s self to leap empty handed into the void.  With this Rune the Warrior Nature reveals itself.

If Dagaz is followed by the Blank Rune, the magnitude of the transformation might be so great as to portend a death, the successful conclusion of one’s passage.

I am only beginning to explore these messages, keeping myself open to what they may portend about myself, my relationships, family and friends.  In a way, the finding of these special symbols, the quiet reading of each in Sedona, made for deeper connections.  A new beginning for some, perhaps an end for some.

Gemini Personality Traits v. Leo

I am a Gemini. For quite a long time, I hesitated to tell anyone my sign of the Zodiac.  I had grown to feel ashamed of my astrological star sign.  Sadly, this shame was caused by judgmental and opinionated individuals who, when they became aware of my card carrying Gemini status, would launch the tale of their “dramastic” existence with their Gemini, punctuating with extra flair the parts of their story that illustrate how horrible their entire life experience had been with Gemini.  Then, as if that wasn’t enough, they’d hurl their judgments of me cloaked as comparisons of course, by the time they were done, I felt like an inappropriate, over talkative, manipulative ass. I’d try to recover by saying, “But really, I’m just gregregarious.” These ignorant and lost individuals have come to believe that Gemini’s are not safe people to be around and have applied this judgment across the board for all Gemini’s.

To know what it is these shallow individuals fear, I began a collection of sorts over the course of many years, which consists of an eclectic blend of varying degrees of opinions profiling that mysterious and dangerous Gemini! Here is my abridged version of my “Best of the Worst” Gemini profiles:

The Gemini

It is said that a Gemini will take either side of an argument, not because they feel strongly about their position, but simply for the fun of it.  A Gemini is adaptable and flexible, and has an insatiable craving for a variety of distractions to gratify their quick, changeable minds. Self-expressive, to the world the Gemini is cheerful and optimistic, but those within the inner circle of the Gemini know that there is also an opposing moody side to the personality.

Independent, a Gemini will not be held down by anyone or any rules of society.  A Gemini craves the experiences one can gain through exploration of the world around us.  Change and freedom are sacred to the Gemini and it is incomprehensible to them to allow anyone to dictate their life.  I recall reading in Gemini personality profiles that a Gemini is a very interesting and exciting friend. They like to leave their “Gem was here! ” on everyone they meet. They are known to be very flighty and can be expected to disappear for a long time as they meet new friends and discover new places. When they finally return, be prepared for their overly exuberant communication of their thoughts, opinions and interesting things to share and ideas to teach. Life is very interesting and fun with a Gemini.

Need advice?  Ask a Gemini, their mastery of communication will help you feel like you’re getting just what you need through their artful persuasion and enthusiasm, and they give good advice too. Do not however, burden a Gemini down with all of your emotional problems.  They have no desire to deal with your problems because it has the potential to depress them. Looking for a ride on the “Gossip Express” A Gemini pal will let you in on all the musings of the he said/she said: crowd.

I have been kept wondering about the emotional balance of the many people who have expressed their refusal of the opportunity to get better acquainted with me. These individuals made their choice because they believe in the astrological calendar so exclusively, and especially enjoy that with every set of Zodiac interpretations they receive a set of  labels for each star sign, handy for when those long days of passing judgment finally give way to placing their victims in a box, with label!

Seriously though, I find that my duality balances me.  I still love myself when I hate myself.  I see myself as honest when I’m lying. I see myself as creative when I feel like a slug. I am gregarious and I do love people.  I love to hate them and I love to love them. Sometimes, I love too fast.  Sometimes I want all that I cannot have or possess.  But overall, I love who I am, and am happy that I’m loved by someone else.

I have someone special in my life who finds what seems to be endless humor in the “traits” of a Gemini personality and he enjoys that I’m a Gemini. He is a Leo, and certainly has had judgment passed on the standard traits of his sign as well.  In my love for this special man, therein lies the end of my duality.  Together, he and I make a whole person.  I’m one.  He’s one.  So how compatible are these two signs?

Leo v. Gemini

Both tend to find consensus on an emotional and mental level.  Leo feels he must always be the center of attraction but feels neglected when Gemini becomes absorbed elsewhere. Leo’s desire to take control may overpower Gemini’s free spirit. If both agree to let each other be free to be their own authentic selves, a sparkling combination is made. When a Leo and a Gemini team up, they can show more sparkle than “Sparkle Josh” from HGTV’s season two DesignStar!   Their mutual love of laughter and life gives them great common ground and they can even teach each other a thing or two. Those dazzling Gemini’s will make their handsome head of the pride relax more knowing that as a result, they will be bestowed with Leo’s generosity and wonderful warmth.

Gemini has a way with words and Leo is wired for forgiveness. Any war wounds heal quickly after their battles or disagreements in their partnership. There’s an ebullient theatrical atmosphere to this union and a wonderful time in their mind is time spent in a movie theater after dinner out at their favorite frou-frou type restaurant.  Have tickets to the ballet, opera or symphony?  You’ll find ample Gemini/ Leo pairings there too.   After a night out on the town, a Gemini and Leo couple head straight for home to have their own delectable Sexcapades, almost seeming to melt into one another.  Only now is Gem at a loss for words. Outside their Romper Room for sex, they continue to be a caring couple and the child like charm of the Gemini will captivate that large Leo heart.

Leo is extremely drawn to Gemini by his sex appeal. Gemini has brawn, good looks and a brain.  Leo finds Gemini’s qualities to be very hot, very sexy. Gemini is witty and can make Leo laugh in a heartbeat which is another plus. Leo will be up for the challenge of mysterious Gemini. Gemini thinks Leo is the best looking lover they have ever had. There is great sex potential and long-term possibility. To make this pairing work, Leo should provide Gemini lots of freedom and keep his sense of humor available at all times. Leo will need to tone down his dramatic episodes and laziness if his strong desire to keep Gemini in the pride. Gemini should always be aloof and remain a mystery to Leo at all times to assure his rightful spot in the pride. Both Leo and Gemini love to party and will share great conversations together, which is a bonus. Don’t keep secrets from Leo, Gemini!

It’s easy to read the Gemini profile and see that they can be interesting, sexy cool individuals, given a gift off phenomenal communication ability, strong sense of adventure and their protective nature of their world filled with positive thoughts and lots of fun. Not to mention their enthusiasm for “knock your socks off” mind blowing sex! Based on this compilation of opinions and made-up-in-the-head “Action Drama for the Comatose”, These “experts” seem to have equated Leo and his Gem to a three star rating on a five star rating scale, Gemini and Leo as astrological signs are said to have enough in common, and enough dissimilarity, to keep things interesting and exciting when coupled. We all know that there’s so much more to this pairing; much more than the quick version making up this blog. There are some very titillating highlights now shared, and after writing this, I don’t feel all that ashamed to be a Gemini anymore. Who wrote this blog anyway? Was it a Gemini? There’s one particular Leo/ Gemini duo that seems to be living up to their astrological reputations indeed!
